Research
ARCVic maintains partnerships and links with several University departments with a specialist focus in the area of anxiety and related disorders, as well as other agencies, clinics in private and public hospitals, and community health and mental health services. Through these associations, ARCVic is involved with key research and service development projects in the anxiety disorders and mutual support/self help areas.
ARCVic places significant value on its research activities, based on the premise that a combination of experiential perspectives, theoretical ideas, and evidence based research provides a more ideal framework for understanding anxiety disorders and progressing knowledge, than relying on any one of these alone. Through its participation in research, ARCVic is able to contribute a unique understanding of the lived experience of these disorders and provide constructive feedback about applications of research and clinical advances in health and community settings.
ARCVic is involved in research in a number of ways, including undertaking its own research projects, collaborating with other research projects as a co-investigator, providing critical reviews of research, disseminating information about research projects and findings to professionals, government, services and the community, assisting students in the development of Masters, Doctorate and PhD projects, and providing opportunities for people with anxiety disorders and families to participate in relevant research.
