Introduction to Mindfulness & Anxiety Workshop
This one-day workshop has been designed to provide an introduction to mindfulness for people with an anxiety disorder.
Mindfulness is:
“The state of being attentive to and aware of what is taking place in the present”

This workshop will assist you to gain mindfulness based knowledge, skills and strategies that may assist your recovery and improve your quality of life.
The workshop will include information and discussion on the history, major principles and benefits of mindfulness, and will also include practical skills to develop and maintain this practice.

Program format:
The workshop is divided into a series of presentations, group discussions, and guided exercises, and will cover the following:
- An introduction to the concept of mindfulness, brief history, and why it is so important in today’s lifestyle;
- The importance of attention and acceptance in the practice of mindfulness with anxiety;
- Types of anxious thinking, and how we can change the way we relate to these thoughts;
- Guided Mindfulness Exercises including the Body Scan, Mindful Awareness, Mindful Breathing, and Mindful listening;
- Group discussion about concepts and individual experiences with mindfulness.
